We have started our Fire Wise lessons and have been learning about tools that only adults can use and tools that children and adults can use. Some things are tools and some things are toys. Ask your child about tools and toys.

We also learnt that fire can be useful and that it helps us in many ways.

We learnt that a fire needs 3 things to make it go.

Christine's Farewell
Thank you to all our wonderful parents who contributed to our shared afternoon tea for Christine. We had a lovely time saying farewell to her.

Room 4 gave Christine a card, a special pointing stick for her future teaching and two Hairy Maclary books.

Christine had a special time with us and has given the class a new furry friend that we've decided to call Chocco.

We all had to think of a name we'd like to call our new friend and then we voted to find the best name.

Guess what colour our new friend is?

Eve B did an amazing job continuing her job as
 'Star of the Week'.
She was very busy on Friday making sure all the Poetry books had a sticker in them after Rach had seen them.

Everyone was awarded a Quality Work sticker this week as the standard of work was amazing.
We have such a super class!

Thanks Eve for being such a star.
I wonder who will get to be our Star of the Week this week?

What's On This Week...

The letter of the week is Oo
Who will find interesting Oo things to share?
Remember - we have people in Room 4 who share news on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and you might not always get to share your things on the day you bring them. If we have spare time we use that time for extra sharing.

This is Week 10 for this term.

Reminders
Remember to:
  • Bring a water bottle every day
  • Bring your reading folder every day - you can't take reading books home without a reading folder.
  • Empty your reading folder each day - there were lots of things to take home last week.
  • Learn your words every night, if you have them.
  • Take off your nail polish before you come to school on Monday.

  • Come with a smile everyday!

We have lots of jigsaw puzzles in Room 4

They are really good for:
  • developing our brains.
  • helping us think about shapes and space.
  • developing our fine motor skills.
  • helping us learn how to work with others.
Noah is doing a Hairy Maclary puzzle with Christine.
Madix and Carlisle worked together to get their puzzle done.
You were all so focused - Ka Pai!

James and Shayla are working with an alphabet puzzle.

Ollie is working with numbers.

This is a 100 piece puzzle that lots of us worked on together.
We have a few pieces to go and hope to finish it on Monday!

Zade is working hard with a magnetic pointer to put the correct number of balls under each number in the puzzle. Well done Zade, you worked hard on this.

Evelyn did lots of puzzles and worked with different people.
Here she is doing one by herself!

Meet Chocco!
Did you guess the colour?
