Thanks Ollie for being such a 'Star' this week.
Ollie was so organised with books, stickers and Quality Work stickers. He had everything organised and ready to go each day. Ka Pai Ollie! |
I wonder who the 'Star of the Week' for Week 5 will be...
The Letter of the Week is...
This is a tricky letter.
I wonder what we can find for the 'Letter of the Week' table?
We have a new 'News' Roster
This will be in place for the rest of Term 2.

News can be about anything!
News doesn't have to relate to the
Letter of the Week.
It would be good if it wasn't a toy
or something the children have shared before.
You can email photos or images to
me for the children to present via the big screen. rach@opawa.school.nz
Oral language features.
We are learning to present our news clearly by using:
o
Eye contact
o
Volume &
projection
o
Clarity of speech
o
Tone – expression
& gestures
o
Good pace
o
Confidence
Questioning.
We are learning about asking good questions – thick/fat
questions rather than skinny questions.
We will be able to do this when we:
o
Know the
difference between a question and a statement.
o
Can think of
appropriate questions to ask.
o
Can ask questions
to gain more information.
o
Can ask a, who; what;
where; when; why; how question.
o
Can ask a ‘fat’/‘thick’
question to find out more.
Room 4 is also starting a Mystery Bag!
This is part of Oral Language.
Our 'Star of the Week' will start this on Monday.
They will be the first person to take the bag home, write some clues about their 'Mystery Item' and bring it back to school so that we can all be Detectives.
We need to try and work out what is in the 'Mystery Bag' by asking really good questions!
The 'Star of the Week' gets to choose someone else to take the Mystery Bag home on Tuesday.
We are really looking forward to this! |
